Background:
Josh is the son and oldest child of Dan and Ellen Siler. Growing up, he didn't see much of his father who served in the US Air Force.
At the age of 2, he was left to the care of his grandparents. It was a family decision instead of moving the kids across the globe from one post to another. His grandparents raised him on the family farm with his younger sister and 3 cousins, just outside Colorado Springs, Colorado.
From an early age, he was a natural leader, coercing his sister and cousins into things to help their grandparents or cause a bit of mischief as some kids and teens do.
On Career Day in 9th grade, he met with military recruiters. Reviewing his options, he chose the U.S Marine Corps. He was posted, long-term, in the Mid-East where he serviced as part of a security detail. At least, that was his cover from Special Forces.
The one wish he had for himself was to earn his college degree. The problem was that his job and dedication to the Corps comes first. His dedication to his family comes second.
